CREATIVE TROUSER TOWN
Welcome to Hebden Bridge
Local events sites: Hebweb & Hebden Bridge.org
Here, in the heart of the Pennines, the small market town of Hebden Bridge is nestled in a steep wooded valley. It is surrounded by beautiful woodland and moorland yet is very accessible to towns and cities within Yorkshire and Lancashire such as Leeds, Huddersfield, Halifax and Manchester. The picturesque town is full of cafes, restaurants, small independent shops, craft and art galleries. After a day seeing the sights you could enjoy one of the many pubs and bars or visit the Trades Club, the Little Theatre or Hebden Bridge Picture House for your entertainment.
Hebden Bridge has a reputation for being a town that supports the arts. Many of the mills are now converted to artist studios and galleries. Exhibitions are always on at the Town Hall and Visitor Centre. Look out for leaflets and posters promoting local art exhibitions at north light gallery or arts mill. Hebble End Works on the canal contains craft, art and vintage shops.
There are numerous annual festivals in the town throughout the year. A highlight of the summer is the Handmade Parade and Hebden Bridge Arts Festival. For a full list of events see www.hebdenbridge.co.uk/events
